I loved this scene just for how much Tom is heavy breathing. Loki has just exerted lots of energy and even for a god that is hard work. There is so much of Tom’s performance in this show that is brought from the stage. If you’ve been able to see the screenings of Coriolanus you see how much hard work he puts into his physical acting. Not in a showy way. But in a real, this is effort and my body is working hard while I am also saying the words and acting the part way. Plus Tom has great poise. You see it in his kneeling too. There’s a strength to his core. He’s not big and muscled like Hemsworth but he’s toned and his body holds him in ways that subtlety show his strength.

Also big shout out to the costume department who put him in the sword harness and made the stitching on this shirt.

I think this might be my favourite scene in the show even though there’s basically nothing happening.
